Nothing much good ever comes of laziness, and thats all 'txt' speech is.
It's justifiable on mobiles or in chat rooms, as the data input method is so terribly 'narrowband' compared to the full broadband experience of face to face conversation.
I don't think people will ever read books in this format because reading is a leisurely paced activity. So apart from a few experimental books, we are safe I think.
But... having said that. A UK newspaper set up a competition for txt poetry and some of the winners were actually very good. Proving that true meaning lies in the content and not in the medium.
