Yep don't delete. Even if you haven't paid your account for 6 months or more - i have been told of one that was reinstated a year later, they will reinstate it. Why would Sony not reinstate - they want your cash

A friend of our was leaving EQ but hadn't had his account active for over 12 mths. He advised us of certain info and we went in and stripped his characters ... they were still there with all their gear and cash after that time. We had at the time like 14 days (during the free registration period) to pay and have the account reregistered or after that we would have to apply to Sony direct.

I have heard similar stories to this one without it being the free registration period that ours was during.

Ok, your right, i guess i didnt really mean delete. I meant to say close the account. Pressing the delete button on all that hard work and time would be too painful. It has been hard enough to walk away from him.

The official word of Sony states somewhere in fine print that characters are to be saved for 3 months time at wich point they are removed... Now I know this isn't true because 2 of my friends in this town who were short on cash and couldn't get gamecards to renew within a month lost all their toons on other servers... and one other had her characters for more then a year after canceling so I guess its completely at sony's discression...

... We must bring back the original verant crew to fix this attrocity....

Heh..surely you could get the chars restored. Why wouldn't they try and encourage people to play again?

And they weren't good friends or anything just like co-workers/friends of them who I speek of... soo... /shrug

I was about to add in something about maybe making people buy more accounts but that would be wrong because when the characters poof thats not the end of the account... Tons of people got banned from WoW in the first 2 weeks for implementing/using clientside memory hacks to up exp gain/runspeed whatever... and a friend of mine was asking why they would do that to someone for doing that... wich I had to try to explain to him and I tacked on a bit there if you ban an account your as good as making them pay anohter 50 bucks for a copy of the game if they wana play again...

he thought that was a dumb idea... but whatever eh?

Wow got too many players that their servers gone laggy so no loss to them i guess
