seriously.. the elder scrolls were the buggiest crapiest pieces of shit I've ever had the misfortune to play. . so much potential but they just coudln't get it together.

I have no doubt this will be just as bad. They have no clue.

I purchased "Witcher" a few month back and played it. Very good game it is and liked it very much. People said good thing about "Witcher II" as well, so that maybe worthwhile looking into for people who are interested in it.

Maybe worth a bash then since Thor caned elder scrolls :P

EB has Witcher at $8 and pt 2 at $47. I'll pick up the first one and see if it's worth getting the second a bit later.

Don't know what drugs Thor is smoking but Elder Scrolls is great. Perhaps it was just you Thor? My version of III and IV ran flawlessly on the PC and the copy of IV that I have on the PS3 also works flawlessly. Skyrim is going to be insanely awesome, a new graphics engine (as if the old one wasn't already good) and even more quests and storylines are going to be keeping my non raid nights extremely busy for a very long time!

Hey, how's all the offline and online gaming coming along?

I played almost every offline RPG known to man since the old MUD, MOO, MUSH days.

My first dungeon crawler on the PC were two I forgot but based on the Dungeons & Dragons and Tolkien's Moria and Angband concept of dungeon crawling.

So that's how I got hooked with Everquest when it first came out in 1999 due to years of MUDing. I guess Brad McQuaid capitalized on the fact that there was an underground army of people worldwide who enjoyed text-based RPGs and created Evercrack. The rest is history.

And so I played Dragon Age Origins & Awakening, Elder Scrolls - Oblivion, Knights of the Nine, Shivering Isles, and working on Skyrim when I have the time.

Been busy but will get back into Evercrack as soon as I get settled down with my family life. Just got married.

Hope you all have an awesome adventure in VOA and beat Tier 4 and win some nice lewt$. Have fun!

I played MUDs for years as well, about 6 to 7 years before I shift to EQ. I personally still doing the kill quest in first zone, playing time is fairly weak as usual. Normally I split time into leveling as well, but this time around with all the good stuff locked behind languages, not much choice but to get that out of the way first.

Skyrim is freaking awesome! Just grab it on a console to avoid Crossfire/SLi issues. Though they've promised a patch within a few days for the common issues.

I have it on PC and haven't had any SLi issues. I have heard of some major bugs though.

HAHAHA I had a total WTF moment last night. Wandering through a tavern and a new quest popped up to challenge a guy to a drinking game. Knocked back 3 and the dude is like "whoah man you don't look too good". Blacked out and woke up in some random temple in a town miles and miles from where I was and had never been. Apparently I trashed the joint so I had to clean it up then apologise and now I have to find the dude and recover some shit we "stole" while off our tits.

Yet another awesome reason why Skyrim is ace :)

Yep, pretty damn awesome game! So addicted to it at the moment.

I think my favourite moment was choosing which of the 3 kidnapped victims I had to kill to join the assassins guild. In the end it was obvious :orclol:

LOL I haven't joined the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim yet. Last night I had to choose whether to help some chick who claimed to have assasins chasing her, or the assasins. I ended up telling the assasins I'd help, then got the chick to them. Killed the assasin and collected my reward from the chick then looted the assasin and got more coin! Take that ethics!

This game lets you be as perverted as you like. My day job is arch mage of the casters college and at night I'm an assassin. Nothing like a dagger across a throat to ease the tensions from casting fireballs all day, lol. The pay is good too

I married Lydia, my faithful housecarl. Had to force it through the console though because of the marriage bug. It's a cross racial lesbian marriage though, but with nice benefits. 100 gold from her daily, she cooks and I get a skill increase buff after we've slept together (Lover's Comfort). Just wish she would clean the house :(

I found out how to make her level up properly. If you don't she remains at the same level as when you first take her as a follower and she becomes really gimp later on. Now she's quite an awesome tank with stats appropriate to her level.

I am more of a strategy game fan myself, things like Hearts of Iron are what I play for offline game.

NOTE: Make sure everyone is in range as the chest is opened. Anyone not in range won't get experience from the task.

HoT was a lot better than VOA in terms of gimping powerleveling.
VOA launch but it is going to take more than Viagra to get me excited about it.

Yeah they introduced the changes to Tasks. Not a single change was done for the betterment. The changes affect VoA and HoT tasks but not UF down.

You will be joining a very long list of people who think they really dropped the ball with VoA.

Not sure if related, but sharing my excitement!

There is a very strong possibility of me, Jubei, and Drabarni coming back for some VoA action after new years. We have much party action to attend in RL before resubscribing, but we hope to get right into exploring some new content with the ol' Wreckin Crew!

Also, <3 and stuff.

heya hido. party hard and we'll see you in the new year.

and for the record I'm very happy with the changes with the quest / progression system. it means that in 6 months time when everyone is farming the last tier for xp that returning/new players can group with them anywhere, as they have access to all zones. they won't have to struggle with only having access to tier one before quitting again for not being able to find a group.

I LIKE the you have to do multiple missions across the zones for language. there is more chance of people having to get out of guild hall this way.

Ok so you can't powerlevel alts by sitting them in GH while you power through 8 missions on your main and just task add them. I don't see this necesarily as a bad thing.

And sure, I can dig that the language thing having multiple paths is loopy and hard for some people to understand, but it's there to provide options.. they just shoudlnt do that coz providing options to people who don't understand just annoys people.

Most isn't that bad but 71 for class AA is a little naughty. The nerf to HoT mission and task xp is really stupid.

why is it stupid exactly?

Task and mission seem to be a major portion of xp in HoT, the change to mission where you only gain xp if you at the chest. However nerfing the general xp return on the other solo task and mission does not make a lot of sense. It is not like the 2 to 4 aa those generally gives really breaks the game in any fashion.

Retro nerfing is generally always bad, after one year of release is really bad.
