Think Curt asked me to post this, after I made my 1st couple Pure Energeians yesterday.
List of raid level powersources, and there effects.

From that I would deduce:
Best all round melee: Elemental
Best all round caster: Light
Best Max HP: Growth (hurts ac bad)
Best Max Mana: Ethereal (hurts hp bad)
Best Max AC: Metal
Can't really go wrong if you make those ones.
Hmm Water would be a solid alternative to growth if you don't like the huge ac hit - probably won't be popular tho.
