No they didn't contact me at all, I had to call them listen to a lady who knew NOTHING about what she was saying.. Just seems weird, if it was a problem with the exchange they should have been able to tell you straight away that you could not get it. If it's a pair-gain problem then there is hope as Telstra have admitted the evilness of that technology and are suposedly starting a replacement program. I'd recommend you contact Telstra, and ask them for a WRITTEN exlpanation as to why you are unable to receive ADSL in your area, and tell them there's no need to skimp on the technical details. Don't forget to record things like the time and date that you call, names of people you speak to, department name and location (remember, you might be in WA, doesn't mean they are) and the duration of the call. Then I would forward all this information not only to Kate Lundy as Boppin has suggested, but also to your local member of parliment in a joint open letter explaining that it's simply not good enough that you're locked into the Dark Ages of Telecommunications beacuse the national phone service carrier that was sold off to allow growth to provide "Better Services" can't be assed maintaining a network standard on a national level simply because it would take some of the cash away from it's shareholders (more like Executives) in the short term. Pair Gained Line? Give me another line in the exchange. No free lines? Pair Gained isn't good enough, install a new line, let me know when it's in. Alternativly, swap my line with a non Pair Gained line of someone who's using it for nothing more than a voice call. Exchange not ADSL compatible? Why not? If you're not in a regional area, there's no excuse for it not to be upgraded already, or at least scheduled for an upgrade in the near future. Don't fear to play the "You're forgetting us in WA!" line either, but don't stress it too hard or you sound like a hick. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> And finally, keep at them. OMG OMG OMG TELSTRA ARE THE SUCK!!!! We have a technician at our place atm installing a new line he said our existing phone line is already copper and we should be able to hook up to ADSL no problems as we are about 3.5km from the exchange. When asked why would they put extra equipment on our line he said "Telstra don't they will only do that if you call in about a fault 3 times then they do that" we have never called about a fault. Jar is on the phone to Telstra ADSL activations hopefully blasting the shit out of them for being IDIOTS and hopefully we get our ADSL on <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> <div style="text-align:center"><a href="http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.h ... Telstra Tech ran the ADSL test on our phone line we are 3.2km away from the exchange and he said there is no reason as to why we should not get ADSL. Jar and I will be contacting Telstra constantly till we have ADSL..
