Nice. I've been watching the cup repeatedly. Not too depressed about the US failing to move on, we don't really focus much on soccer. The game between England and (I think it was) Trinidad & Tobago was freakin awesome though. I was actually kinda surprised at how well the african teams did this year.

While the US isn't exactly a soccer powerhouse, they really had no chance this time around with some questionable refereeing going against them.

I felt sorry for them inheriting Markus Merk for the game against Ghana, after Merk showed complete incompetence in the Aus vs Brazil game.

Still Australia had some pretty dodgy refereeing too and managed to overcome. :)

the game ghana vs czach was something .. ghana was killing czach ( 2nd ranked .. ok that ranking system is defintely borked .. since usa ranked 5th =D ) .. was impressive

was rooting for american last nite .. but outcome was fair... best 2 teams advanced

had been a great wc so far imo .. great matches ! o ya that ausi #10 is quite a striker

I thought the engerlish ref was ££ - 3 yellow cards to one guy :)

Follows on from his last game - shows the red card before the yellow.

I watched the Brazil - Japan game instead of the aussies - 5 superb goals :) Brazil were much better than when they played the aussies.

Been a long time since I was in Melbourne, so can any Melbournites suggest a good venue to watch the game at 1am Tuesday morning (Monday night)?

I know the casino is open but that was a little lame last time, and Federation Square is just too damn cold, anywhere else?

Good game, Aussie's had their chances but I don't agree with the penalty called. The Italian player was a good actor.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the "soccer thing" is far from over. There are still the quarters, semis and final to go (and 3rd place playoff too!).

How do I paste a funny .gif that I found on another website - its like not just one picture but a series of pictures with movement - you know - like a movie almost.
