The Mallorean was fkn crap. You could understand the way the first series was played out but it just became fkn annoying by the second.
And as far as Silk's name goes I don't believe it came from that series. Silk is short for Silkenshammie which paid homage to his Bard from TZ Silkentongue. For some reason he thought he could play a bard and cyber at the same time and as we all know only clerics can cyber and play at the same time. Usually through a CH rotation. The only other class that even comes close are female Pallies that live in WA.

Silk
nah, he didn't get his name from those books - he was originally Bastardos, but someone complained about his name so he had to rename himself on the spot. He was playing a bard at the time, so after about 6 names got rejected he settled on Silkentongue (eventually added the last name "smoothride"), everyone called him Silk so he named his shaman on TP Silkenshammie for continuity.
Just for a joke, I named my character Silkentart to hang out with him, which ended up being the knell of death for originality in my names!
