i am having a devil of a time getting this game to run (first game other than eq i have paid for in 10 years so prob serves me right) but yeah, we have three gaming computers in this house .. it refuses to run on two and seems to run fine on the 3rd. pc 1 and two are both athlons both around 1600's running radeon cards(9000 and 9600pro, it runs the intro then crashes before getting to roster screen on both of these. Computer 3 which runs it is a duron 1.3gig hz with a geforce4 of some description. I jumped to the conclusion it must not like radeons ... but i pulled the geforce out of comp3 and put it in my athlon ... and it still crashes, even after full reinstall etc. basically cant think of any reason for it to not work on these two computers, all three OS installs were off same cd etc .. not much difference in any drivers.
Anyone have any suggestions at all? this is kinda bugging me

Hmm .. sounds shit.. tried asking tech support of the game you bought?
Did you try putting the radeon in the computer which worked (the geforce one) Perhaps the installation of radeon drivers will fubar the only machine it works on.
When you reinstalled the computer that didn't work, installing latest video and directx drivers, did you have the radeon or the geforce installed?
Apart from that AMD suck ass, buy intel

got it going .. installed some kazaa lite codec pack months ago because it had codec x which i needed for some reason. The video's in mechwarrior4 were mpegs and there was some conflict with a program from the Kazaa pack which tried to take over from the game and killed it. After the uninstall of this codec pack the game would half run but spam me with messages saying it was missing the codec lol.. ended up just reinstalling xp and seems to be working ok, was a bit of a pain though.
