This post details the minimum knowledge / preparation required for raiding with Wreckers. If you have any questions about any of this please feel free to contact a Wrecker officer.
MINIMUM LEVEL to raid with us is level 80 though we prefer 85.
Channels
The following channels are used on a raid (that I am aware of)
/wreckers - everyone welcome, as usual
/wreckheal - CLR, DRU, BST, NEC
/wreckCH - CLR, DRU
/wreckmelee - PAL, SHD, WAR, RNG, BST - anyone who melee's
/wreckpull - MNK, BRD - anyone else involved in pulls
/wreckerdebuff - ENC, SHM, MAG, DRU?
/wreckdruids - Druids wanted their own channel
WRECKHEAL - All heal messages should be directed to this channel. This is also the channel where cheal, mgb, curing rotations are organised. BST's & NEC's should be in this channel for calls for feeds & paragon. Heal messages should be brief. Chat is generally welcome, except when mobs are engaged or instructions are being given. We often chat here outside of raid times.
WRECKCH - All heal messages should be directed to this channel. Short is good eg /# Cheal on Target next SIANNI is quite enough. We do not cheal by numbers. Random chatter is not welcome here.
WRECKMELEE - all discussions regarding MA/SA/RT etc take place in this channel. Random chatter is not welcome here.
WRECKPULL - like wreckmelee, this channel is specifically for information related to the pull, or communication between pullers. Random chatter is not welcome here.
WRECKERDEBUFF - all debuff messages should be directed to this channel. This is also where debuffing is organised/assigned.
Personally, I have the channels I need on /autojoin
Please also ensure that your UI is set up in such a way that messages to your primary channels are not going to be missed.
/rsay
All instructions for the raid will occur in this channel. Relevant & valid questions can be directed to this channel. Congratulations on loot, jokes, random chatter or non-urgent queries should not be made here. Use /wreckers or send tells for these.
Buff announcements will be made here also. If you miss out on a buff for any reason, send a /tell to an appropriate class member and ask for it directly. Requests for buffs are not made in /rsay.
We have lately been a bit slack regarding random chatter in /rsay, however due to the fact that we a) have a lot of new raiders now and b) will soon be engaging brand new content, it's important that this is followed.
General Raid Stuff
IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING THAT IS SAID IN /RSAY PLEASE ASK!
If you don't know what your "job" is on a raid, ask someone. People in your group or another member of your class should be able to answer questions. You can also direct such questions to Selinea, Thoraf or other officers not involved with the direct running of the raid. Priest/healer questions can be directed to Selinea.
Wreckers have always prided themselves on being able to take out the "big" mobs on smaller numbers of skilled players. We have rarely had an abundance of any class. Each player is extremely valuable for their skills and contribution to a raid. You can help ensure the success of a raid by:
1) Always pay attention to /rsay & any appropriate channels.
2) Follow instructions.
3) If you don't understand something ASK
4) All raiders that don't have INSTANT invis (insta clicky invis) need to have at a minimum of 3 invis potions with them for raiding. Know how to use them to get places safely. We use invis moves regularly and you are expected to be able to invis and move fast.
5) Have all maps loaded.
6) If you have an idea for how an encounter could be improved DO NOT voice the suggestion in the middle of the encounter. Most strat is decided on these boards, and ahead of time. If you have input for the encounter place it in the appropriate forum.
7 RESEARCH! Learn the encounters before you get to them. There is a lot of information on these boards, as well as all over the net. Inform yourself.
Know your job, your class, your abilities *and* your computer. Do not be afraid to say you don't know how to do something.
9) Appropriate classes need to bring emeralds, peridots, pearls, or <insert>, guildbank will reimburse you for costs, contact either Jarinu.
I'm sure there are many things which are not covered here, or which didn't need to be covered here, but hopefully that gets us all started on the same page.
