Hi gang, just thought I'd share the recipe to my rocket fuel that I like to make from time to time.
Ingredients:
1 x Bottle of Vodka (brand of your choice)
1 x Large Orange
43 x Coffee Beans
40 x teaspoons of sugar
Preparation:
Stud the coffee beans into the orange, DO NOT peel the orange first.
Get a large jar or container that you can seal, place the sugar, the studded orange, and your bottle of vodka into the jar(Yes, the container must be big enough to hold all of this - we use gherkin jars FYI)
Place glad wrap over the top of the jar then place lid.
Store in a dark place out of direct sunlight, under the sink for example.
Wait 40 days....
At the end of the 40 days remove the orange (the oragne can be cut up and stored (and frozen) in a zip lock bag for later use as an alcoholic Ice Block if you wish).
The resultant liquid is a coffee-orange colour with a definite aroma.
Drink as a shot.
Like I've said to some, I took two bottles to the work xmas function last year. They went pretty quickly so I'm having to make even more this year.
I like it

Question... when you say "put it in the jar", you mean, pour it all together into the jar, right?
I might actually try this sometime, inspite of not being one to drink alcohol!

43 is always the number that I've used since I started making the stuff. Call it the 'family tradition'.
Yes, when we put it in the jar it kinda looks something like this:
layer of sugar on the bottom, with a studded orange sitting on it. You add the vodka and, admittedly, it doesn't look that good, but then you seal the jar and store it. 40 days later you got yourself a drink.
