Chocolate Brownies

Post by Josslyne »

125g Dark Chocolate, chopped
60g unsalted butter
2/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
5 large eggs
3/4 cup plain flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup dark chocolate chips
125g cream cheese, softened

1. Preheat the oven to 160C and grease a shallow baking tin.
Melt chocolate and butter in a bowl over hot water. Beat the sugars, 4 eggs and a pinch of salt until thick and pale, then stir in the melted chocolate.

2. Sift the flour and cocoa together and stir into the chocolate mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans. Pour the mix into the baking tin and smooth. Beat the cream cheese and remaining egg together until smooth.
Drop the mixture into 6 - 8 spots on the top of the batter. Cut figure eight shapes into the batter with a knife to create a mable effect. Then smooth the top.

4 Bake in the preheated oven for 25 - 30 minutes or until firm.
