Anyone have intentions of playing this when it goes live?
If so let me know I'm wanting to set up a guild so we can at least group together and look at it instead of playing solo.

Goin to check it out, havent decided on faction. Likely it will be in any other game where you have factions fighting that 90% will play the evil (cool?) side.

Yah they are staggering release to control infrastructure growth issues. I think us 1st. Rest of the world will have to wait.

They aren't Region locking, get it from Amazon, or US provider = All Good.

game is NOT region blocked, only their north american online store is bloocking ip's outside the states.
You can pre order from amazon.
I already have my pre order key and it's registered with no problems.
EA/Bioware have already stated on their forums they will not block ip's and the reason they blocked was so that people who really wanted to play would find a way to buy it.

Preordered old republic and diablo 3 for good measure. Delivery of Republic is expected in the 1st week of January.
Also think I'd prefer a Sith guild Fiz but could possibly be persuaded.

They announced the Jan. 1st thing, Roob, or the store claims it? I was under the impression that everyone was adopting the Blizzard approach (because otherwise Blizzard tailors their own releases to coincide).

1st week of jan is the expected delivery date from amazon but you do get sent a key right after purchase. Possibly can digital download for release???

was announced awhile ago that they would give digital download for the early access.
The game release date is 20th Dec but nothing about the early access has been stated. Hope its available before they give access.
Beta Access

IGN are giving WORLD WIDE beta access next Friday, all you have to do is sign up for their premium play (and can it on Friday)
In the mean time here's some screen shots for what I'd seen of in beta ATM. I'm playing Jedi knight currently lvl 6. I dont have a lightsabre yet either the weapon is a vibroblade.

PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS:
Now granted, I only played for about an hour, and twenty minutes of that was messing around with the character creation interface. However – that being said; I was not very impressed. At all.
I'm sorry but how can anyone make a valid argument based on 1 hrs where they spend 20mins making a toon. Took me all of 5 mins to make something (who cares wtf you look like its beta).
He also only looked at 1 class, if we did that when EQ came out, I'm sure a few would have said oh how crap is this. After 5hrs I have a few dislikes such as: As stated in that review you do a cut-scene to place you in world where you start. This is where my first comment comes in, though it plays the same as most mmo's there are a few subtle different's that aren't taught but pop-up in a help window to the side. This makes it annoying when you are trying to learn.
But during this beta unlike any other I've been in, these random questionnaires keep popping up with questions about the quests your doing interaction with npc's etc, Hell i got one when i was just running round killing shit.
Another dislike is that there are good/evil factions meaning if you want to be a Jedi and ya mate wants to be a bounty hunter you cant play together (aka wow : horde and alliance)
My ping the entire time i was playing was round 200ms so no different from EQ.
As for the cookie cutter comment. Name one single MMO that's been released since EQ that's not. If your a star wars fan you'll like if well except to me it appears that Bioware voice actors didn't do research on how to pronounce some of the alien race names. But that me. lol.
Once you get to level 10 you can chose you specialist class, Will post more once i get there.
