OK, just random questions ... as I am looking at improving my gaming rig from the generic crap I have at present. using a $20 keyboard from IT Whorehouse, and a $6 mouse from BigW ... neither of which is worth what I have had previously but was destryed in one way or another.

So, the question i Pose here, is I Can get a Logitech G19 Keyboard at $149 from a computer wholesale shop, or a Logitech G15 Series 1 for between $50-$70 from somewhere else ... Is the G19 worth the extra money??

Does anyone have any other recommendations for gaming keyboards or other peripherals ... looking at new headset, keyboard, gamepad etc.

Currenty have:
cheap $5.00 headset that is falling to pieces
cheap ass keyboard which is falling to pieces
cheap ass 500dpi mouse, this is already being upgraded to a Logitech MX518 w/ a new gaming mouse pad also =P.
Have a Nostromo N52 Gamepad which is probably the only piece of gaming hardware I have managed to retain in 1 piece over the years =P

Options for keyboard are:

Logitech G19 - $149.00
Logitech G15 Series 1 - $50-70...

throw your gaming idea's out here for me to paruse =P

Personally, I'm still running with the orginal G15 keyboard, and its more than adequate.

Depend on the type of game you are playing, I don't feel mouse make a lot of difference in EQ for me. I am good as long as the mouse fit into the hand nicely and not too light, then all good.

I also place CS:S, and when it is released I will be playing Diablo 3 ... other than that it's just EQ.

G15 keyboards I have had previously, and loved it, but just thinking the upgrade to the G19 would be my next progression ... Still like the thought of having a series 1 G15, however the added extra's of a G19 appeal to me =P ...

OK, decisions have been made, and products purchased.

For Nostalgic Sake ... I found a Series 1 Logitech G15 (the original blue one), a Burn in Hell 80x40 game mat, and a Logitech MX518 gaming mouse (1800 dpi).

Total cost paid for each, which im quite proud of:

Logitech G15 Series 1 - $61 (RRP Between $89-$99)
Logitech MX518 - $30 (RRP $69.95)
Burn In Hell Game Mat - $9

A sweet even $100 for my whole new peripheral setup =D. Now I needa start looking for a new headset as my old one is starting to fail =P

Since 2004 i hav4e only used senheiser headsets and they have been really good. Have used only 2 headsets in that time (still on second headset), would highly recommend them as a decent option.

Yeah, I have senheiser headphones for my iPod ... and <3 em ... dunno what im gonna look at for my headset yet ... see when I get a bit more savings up.

Got my G15 today ... Key mapping kinda sucks some as the one I have has 'some european' leys ... so if anyone has an old G15 laying around that is screwed ... lemme know so I can steal your keys ... such as:

; ' \ , . / [ ] - = Alt Ctrl Enter, Shift, the Home, Insert etc buttons, and Print screen etc as well as Num Lock ... just so I don't confuse the wife w/ the keyboard layout =P ... doesn't phase me as i can touch type.

I still use the G15 keyboard too. Microsoft Explorer mini mouse works on any surface, but friend has nothing but good use in Razer brand mice due to having around 9 hotkey buttons on it and more slim than round like most mice. I got $140 Razer Megaladon headset - complete failure. I would recommend a sturdy sony or logitech headset.

Seeing 1st post in this thread put a big smile on my face. MX518 is the best mouse ever imo. I still have 2 unopened ones and I'm using the current one for 5+ years. I'm good for at least another decade. haha

Nothing beats the original Microsoft Natural Keyboard and a Logitech Trackball mouse for gaming I say!

May as well be entertaining if we're going to keep necroing a thread that's this old.
