It was awesome. The special effects were actually extremely well done, the movie is provoking and unexpected and unique in many ways. Really good.

Yeh the actual plot with well done special effects was the hook that interested me.

What hooked me immediately was how it was started out as a documentary. Kinda like avatar in that it shoves its message right down your throat without any subtlety but otherwise a very enjoyable film.

I watched it on free online movies not so long back.

I'm in two minds about it. Parts of it was excellent and parts of it failed. All in all though, worth a watch. It's different.

I liked it, even though as Chord says the message is obvious. Good story and special effects, had enough plot to keep you interested. But if you don't like sci fi don't bother.

Funnily enough, got this for Xmas and watched it last night. Loved it! The "hero" was such a dick and I loved the guns =) Reminded me somehow of Half Life/Portal, what with the graphics of the road signs, buglike aliens, big strange alien guns and black black humour. I nearly wet myself when he first fired the alien gun and blew the guys thru the wall. FK YEAH HAHA!!

Hahha yeah District 9 was purty fkn good. LOVED the gravity gun most

I'm glad they didn't make the halo movie but instead made this
